Notes:

In most cases, the final removal of the associated mastic, glue holding the floor tile down, is achieved using an approved low odor chemical solvent, commonly referred to as mastic remover. Initially, the mastic wetted with amended water and cut with an electric buffer with blades. The large pieces of cut mastic debris are cleaned up and place in disposal bags as described with the floor tile The remaining veneer of the mastic is removed using a limited amount of mastic remover. The solvent distributed over the work surface is scrubbed using an electric buffer. The spent solvent and liquid mastic is then gathered up, placed in metal containers and sealed for offsite disposal. The residual mastic remover and liquefied mastic is absorbed by using cotton rags and placed in disposal bags.
