Once containment has been established, the asbestos abatement workers put on their personnel protective equipment (PPE), including approved air-purifying respirators prior to entering the containment unit. The asbestos containing materials surfaces are adequately wet with amended water, or soapy water and the removal of floor tile and mastic begins.
