Notes:
The asbestos abatement work that is to be conducted is of a category 1 non-friable floor tile and the associated mastic. The work is conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Dept of Health (TDH). The rules and regulations have been developed and instituted to control the release of airborne asbestos fibers and be protective of human health and the natural environment. The work is conducted by people who have been accredited by EPA and licensed by the TDH to perform asbestos activities.
Prior to the asbestos abatement project beginning a technical design specifications are written for the proper removal and disposal of the asbestos containing material by a TDH licensed individual asbestos consultant who is employed by a TDH licensed asbestos consultant agency. Specifications are written for use by an Asbestos Abatement Contractor in accordance with applicable rules and regulations to assure compliance with the rules. The asbestos abatement design plan is developed to instruct the asbestos abatement worker as to the specific work to be preformed, establish the containment areas, location of removal area and decontamination unit, and the HEPA filter machine and exterior exhaust location.
