When an EPISD roofing program is being considered, several items are considered for the design and implementation of a roofing project. There are several facts that need to be considered.
There are approximately 4 million sq ft of roofing in the El Paso Independent School District.
There are approximately over 500 buildings in the District and of the buildings that we have in the school district, the average age is 50 years or more.
When a re-roofing project is being considered, an important design issue is that
the majority of the campus building roofs have flat roofs. When it rains, water usually ponds on the roof. After a period of time, the water will eventually leak through the roof.
Today’s roofing program is based on a design that includes roof slopes to maintain positive water drainage off the roof.
