Notes:
The contractor is required to use a fume recovery system on all roofing
projects.
The system is hooked up to the asphalt kettle and must be run while
the asphalt kettle is running.
The system collects the fumes and emissions coming off the kettle and routes them through a series of filters.
The filters captures dust and particulates to a size of approximately 0.3 microns.
To give you an idea of how small that is, a human hair has a diameter of approximately 20 microns.
The fume recovery system also is equipped with a carbon filter that absorbs odor.
