El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) employs 83 Registered Nurses (R.N.) and 3 License Vocational Nurses (LVN). One school nurse is assigned to each school in the
district. Also, EPISD has a Title 1 program. The Title 1 Nurses provide health screening to grades PreK, K, 1,3,5,7, and 9.
In addition to the school nurses and Title 1 Nurses, EPISD has a School Base Health Clinic. The Wainwright Family Resource Center is a collaborative effort between the El Paso Independent School District and Texas Tech University Health Science Center. The clinic offers primary health care services, physicals and immunizations for students and their younger siblings. No child will be refused services for inability to pay.
The Wainwright Family Resource Center administers immunizations on Monday thru Thursday at 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for a fee of $5 for one, $10 for two or more.
Physician services are available on Wednesday morning for a $10 flat fee. Parents are responsible for bringing Medicaid information, Social Security Number and
