Bond Accountability Advisory Committee Member: Jim Langford
James (Jim) Langford is a native El Pasoan, attended Crockett Elementary School and graduated from Austin High School. Jim received his Professional Architecture Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a retired Architect who established his private practice in El Paso in 1960. In 1963, Jim formed a partnership with Bob Fouts, Langford, Gomez, Moore Architects.

Jim was asked to help establish the El Paso Community College architecture program in 1984. He taught architecture classes, served as Discipline Coordinator, and liaison with accredited architecture schools throughout the southwest. He is especially proud of all the students who started at EPCC and went on to various Universities and are now Registered Architects.

Jim has been active in the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects where he served on numerous committees. He was president of the El Paso Chapter of AIA and served as a director of the Texas Society of Architects for three years. Jim was appointed to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners in 1986 by Governor Mark White. He served on the Board for over five years as a member and as chairman.

Jim is pleased to serve on the 2007 Bond Accountability Advisory Committee. He has five grandchildren who are students in the El Paso Independent School District and will use some of the facilities scheduled to be built.
