Coordinated School Health

Mission Statement
Coordinated School Health (CSH) is a process that brings a school community together to teach children to be healthy for a lifetime. The eight components of Coordinated School Health, when working in collaboration, can have a significant impact on the health of our school community members. Many recent studies have concluded that healthier children do better in school, are more productive, and have higher attendance rates than unhealthy children. Effective coordinated school programs reinforce positive healthy behaviors throughout the day and demonstrate that good health and learning go hand in hand.
- Every elementary and middle school campus will have a CSH team that represents the whole school community.
- The CSH team should communicate often and meet at least six times per school year.
- Team members will
- Coordinate curriculum implementation
- Complete the School Health Index
- Promote school-wide events to increase student’s health literacy.
