El Paso Independent School District offers a Quality Physical Education program for all K-8th grade students. It focuses on the unique role physical education has in developing health-related fitness, physical competence, positive social behaviors, and cognitive understanding of physical activity.

QPE is a district–developed curriculum that will develop students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It increases physical activity levels that will lead to more alert and energetic students and improve their capacity to learn. This curriculum focuses on thematic instruction allowing teachers to connect learning with key concepts, which leads to increased student achievement.
