Mission Statement
Welcome to the Home Page of the Office of Health and Physical Education which is located in the K-12 Curriculum Division, second floor in the Education Center-Boeing. This office provides the instructional program support for K-12 health education, physical education, and adapted physical education. Curriculum development and implementation of these three content areas are provided to 360 health and physical education teachers servicing over 63,000 students in the EPISD.
Health Education
All students in the EPISD need to be health literate. Health literacy assists students each day with making decisions and practicing behaviors that are based on sound health knowledge and healthful activities.
Achieving wellness requires a lifelong commitment to physical, mental /emotional, and social health.
Physical Education
Developing fitness and improving skills are important in physical education, but these objectives need to be framed within a broader goal aimed at providing children with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills to be active for a lifetime.
The El Paso ISD does not discriminate in its educational programs or employment practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, military status, or on any other basis prohibited by law.
