Dedicated to improving the health and educational development of the youth in El Paso, The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation was formed in loving memory of this 14 year old that died in a skiing accident on February 4, 2007. The Foundation, in conjunction with The Braden Aboud Annual Memorial Run/Walk, was established to honor the spirit and dedication of a young man who was committed to area youth athletics. Braden’s Foundation vigorously pursues his vision that promotes character, confidence and compassion, while seeking to include all those that share the same desire to succeed. The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation is a volunteer organization that has distributed more than $225,000 to our area schools and athletes in the last 4 years. Proceeds generated by the Foundation are utilized to assist student athletes obtain some of the same opportunities Braden enjoyed during his short, but full lifetime. This Foundation will provide local area athletes the defining opportunity to enhance their positive self-esteem, while developing lifelong friendships through athletics. It is the hope of the Foundation that a significant number of our athletes will be touched by those projects funded specifically to benefit them in the form of scholarships, equipment, field renovations, monetary contributions and shoe donations. The Run-Walk, will give this community the opportunity to promote good health among its area youth, while providing an excellent forum for race enthusiasts. The Foundation is excited about the prospect of another successful Run/Walk which encourages our community to B-FIT and B-STRONG. Braden (B) would have loved to see other kids have the same experiences he enjoyed in his lifetime, and through this foundation many are having that opportunity.
