The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation

On May 15, 2011, you have an opportunity to raise $300, $500, or $750 for your school by participating in the Braden Aboud Memorial 5K Run/Walk! The terms are simple:30 entrants to participate for your school and the school will earn $300, get 50 entrants-$500 and 75 entrants-$750.00!! It is an easy way to earn money for your school and the event itself is exciting with a carnival like atmosphere that includes live music, delicious food, games and prizes. The run/walk is the only youth focused run/walk in the city with over 50% of the participants being kids. What is even more special about this event is that the funds raised from the run/walk go back in to the community to support schools and youth sports programs.

Coaches are asked to gather Run/Walk entry forms and money and turn them in together with the one page grant application form.

Grants are given based on the number of entrants that the coach is able to recruit:
30 Entrants = $300
50 Entrants = $500
75 Entrants = $750

Coaches may begin turning in the entry forms and grant form on April 1, 2011. Deadline for group entries is May 6, 2011. Please turn in all forms at the same time.

Race packets will be boxed and ready for each grant entrant by Friday, May 13th. Boxes will be delivered to the coach's school. Coaches will be asked to distribute race packets to their students on Friday, May 13th. Race packets include race number, t-shirts and other race giveaways.

Grant money will be distributed approximately two weeks after forms are received.

Coaches may want to enlist the help of a parent, PTA or Booster Club when recruiting and gathering forms and money.

Entry fee is $10 for students and $20 for adults. Both students and adults count towards your entry goal.

Coaches interested in participating should email us at marktomlin@aol.com to let us know. This will help us deliver forms and posters and other information as it becomes available. Other incentives may be available throughout the year, so please sign up!

Get started as soon as possible! Let your students know about the 5K Run/Walk throughout the year and get them excited about the training and the event.

Use the "B-Fit" Training schedule beginning the first week of April to kick off your school’s participation and start gathering the entry forms at that time.

Remember early entries equals early grant!
