El Paso ISD Police Department
Our Mission
"The members of the El Paso ISD Police Department are committed to creating a safe educational environment and protecting the future by providing a diverse level of service, utilizing focused problem solving techniques and embracing lasting partnerships."
Department Mission
The EPISD Police Department is the largest school police department in West Texas. Working within the 253 square mile that encompass the EPISD, El Paso ISD Police personnel co-mingle with eight other law enforcement agencies. We provide protection for 95 schools and learning facilites, care for the safety of nearly 66,000 students and ensure that the 10,000 school employees receive a full array of police services. Because of the overwhelming size of the EPISD and the ongoing five year plan to build several new schools and administrative offices, the EPISD Police Department has hired an additional 10 officers, which will bring the total sworn officer deployment to 40 men and women. A superb cadre of 60 campus patrol guards and approximately 10 civilian support staff employees compliment the remainder of the department.
Department personnel endeavor to serve the EPISD and the surrounding communities with swift, efficient and courteous police service. Although faced with many challenges, department personnel continue to foster partnerships with school administrators, students, community members, business owners, and outside law enforcement agencies and develop innovative ways of detouring crime against the District.
