Department Officers I
Chief Araiza has more than 21 years of Law Enforcement experience in all facets of law enforcement. Eight years were spent with the El Paso County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. Additionally, Chief Araiza has spent 13 years with the EPISD Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Detective, School Resource Officer and Supervisor. In 1997, he was promoted to the position of Police Sergeant responsible for the supervision of 13 patrol officers, 4 K9 officers and 2 motor officers. Chief Araiza currently supervises 40 Police Officers and oversees 75 Campus Patrols.
Armando Molinar retired from the El Paso Police Department in 2004. Armando Molinar served with the El Paso Police S.W.A.T. Team as an Assistant Team Leader for 15 years. He also served the El Paso Police Departments Gang unit & Drive-By Shooting Review Team. He joined the El Paso ISD Police Department in 2005 and is currently assigned as a Sergeant and Gang Officer for the EPISD PD.
Jose Garcia has been employed with EPISD Police since June of 1999. He was with the El Paso County Sheriff's Dept. for 9 years where he was a Deputy Sheriff. Sgt. Garcia was the first Motorcycle Officer for EPISD. He is currently the Traffic Supervisor.

Ricky Hoss retired from the El Paso Police Department after 26 years of service. Officer Hoss is currently assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit specializing in Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Traffic Safety in school zones, and around school campuses. Certified Police Instructor, Accident Reconstruction, Speed Radar, Emergency Vehicle/Motorcycle Operations.
Officer Hoss' message: "Car Accidents hurt--safety doesn't."
Carlos Barreno, Jr. joined the EPISD Police Dept. on July 18th, 2005 and is currently assigned to Morehead Middle School as the School Resource Officer. Previously Officer Barreno served with the El Paso Police Department and retired after 22 years of service. His favorite part of police work is working with the youth in our schools and providing guidance that will help them in making the right choices in life. He enjoys playing racquetball, working out and spending time with his family.
Officer Barreno's message: "Always treat people with respect, most importantly, do what's right."
Angel Becerril joined the EPISD Police Dept. on April 28, 2005, after retiring from the City Police Dept. with 22years of service. His specialty was dealing with juvenile issues. Officer Becerril is now presently assigned to Guillen Middle School as the school's Campus Police Officer. He was honored with the, "Officer of the Year Award" for the 2006-07 school year. His favorite part of police work is working with students, trying to help them by giving sound advise and serving as a good role model. He hopes that by being a positive example to the students, they can make wise decisions that will enable them to succeed in life.
