Lori Mena has
21 years of experience in Law Enforcement. Officer Mena was a Deputy Sheriff for 10 years
and acquired the rank of Detective. She has been with the El Paso Independent School
District Police Dept. for 11 years and is currently the Investigator for the department.
Ralph Nickels
has been a Police Officer for 14 years and has been with the EPISD Police Department since
1988. Officer Nickels is a Certified Canine Handler and is currently assigned to the
department's canine unit.

Rene Ortega has
been a Certified Peace Officer for the State of Texas for 7 years and has been with the
El Paso ISD Police Department for 5 of those years. Prior to coming to the EPISD Police
Department, Officer Ortega was a Patrol Officer with Clint and Anthony Police Department
located in El Paso County, Texas. Prior to entering law enforcement, Officer Ortega was
a Senior Investigator with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Service;
Child Protective Services, where he was assigned to a special unit investigating child
deaths, abuse, and neglected children committed by school personnel and public officials
along side other law enforcement entities.
Ruben Regalado
was employed for 25 years with the EPPD, as a Patrol Officer for 17 years, also assigned
to the following sections: Police Area Representative (PAR), Crime Prevention, Alarm
Detail, and to the Police Academy as a background investigator. He is presently employed
and has been for the last 7 years with the District Attorney office as an Investigator,
and with the EPISD Police Department for the last 7 months as a Police Officer.
Hector Salcedo
has over 20 years experience with the El Paso Police Department as a Police Officer then
promoted to Sergeant: 10 years in the Patrol Division, 5 years as a Regional Training
Coordinator and 5 1/2 years as a Patrol/PAR Sergeant. Officer Salcedo's experience
includes Tactical Operations, Vice Investigations, Traffic Radar Enforcement, Crime
Prevention and Neighborhood Watch Program Supervisor.
Miguel Sanchez
has been with EPISD for 22 years and with Police Services for 19 years. His current
assignment is at the EPISD headquarters where he is in charge of the safety and security
of more than 1030 employees and 600 or more daily visitors. He works the main security
check-point, takes walk-in police reports, patrols the parking lots and provides security
for the main administrative and Superintendent offices.
