Department Officers V

Hector Serafin joined the El paso Independent School District in january 2007. He is currently assigned to Hornedo Middle School as the School Resource Officer. Officer Serafin was previously employed by the El Paso Police Department where he served there from 1975 until his retirement in 2005. Officer Serafin worked in various capacities with the department and finished his service at the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center. Officer Serafin enjoys working with and helping the students because of their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

Ricardo Serna is a 29 year Police Veteran of the El Paso Police Department and has now been a Police Officer at EPISD Police Department for 2 years.

John Solis is a native El Pasoan, raised and educated in the El Paso Community. He has been involved in Law Enforcement since 1985 both as a Reserve Officer and as a Regular Peace Officer. Officer Solis has worked in the private sector and gained valuable experience dealing with current issues. He takes a great deal of pride in working with the EPISD Police Department.

His favorite quote is: "Dreaming is free, but expect to pay a price to achieve them."

Jeffrey Stevens has been a Police Officer since 2004. He is currently a School Resource Officer at Morehead Middle School.

His personal message is: "Treat others as you would like to be treated."

James Tatum has been with the EPISD Police Department since 1998. Officer Tatum is currently assigned to the department's Narcotics Canine Unit and is stationed at El Paso High School. Officer Tatum is a 2002 graduate of the El Paso Police Narcotics Canine Handler's Course and a 2004 graduate of the United States Border Patrol National Canine Training Facility. He currently holds an active Canine Instructors Certification with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security U. S. Customs and Border Protection National Canine Facility.

Miguel Villalobos has 23 years experience in Law Enforcement, 22 and 1/2 with the El Paso Police Department. The last 4 years he was been assigned to the Juvenile Investigation Section as a Detective. The last 6 months he has served with the EPISD Police Department.
