EPISD Priority Schools Division
Mission Statement:
EPISD’s Priority Schools Division works in conjunction with the District, the Priority Campuses, and the El Paso Community to build upon the goals and vision of the EPISD Board of Trustees and the Superintendent to significantly impact and improve the selected Priority Campuses. In particular, each Priority Campus’s status in relation to state and federal accountability measures is monitored and assisted.
Together, we work as a professional learning community to achieve Nothing Less Than Success for the students of El Paso ISD. The success of the Priority Schools Division and the Priority Campuses are carefully measured regarding increased student learning, positive student/teacher connections , and the overall improvement of each campus’s educational and community climate.
As noted industrial psychologist Walter Deming once said: "Success is a continuing process, not an end product.” It is in this spirit of continuous improvement that we create, implement, and monitor this worthwhile effort to help our students and our community.
In 2006-07, the campuses within the Priority Division realized significant gains. Out of the ten campuses that had not previously met State Acceptable Ratings, nine were able to meet this goal this past year (90% improvement). Of the nine campuses that had not previously met AYP requirements, seven were able to meet these requirements in 2006-07 (78% improvement). The Priority Schools Division joins the rest of the District Community in congratulating these schools on their wonderful achievements!
