Application Requirements
| Thank you for your interest in conducting research in the El Paso Independent School District. This application should guide you through the steps to successfully submit an external research request. ONLY requests for doctoral/master’s students OR research organizations will be accepted. All other requests for information must be obtained through the district’s Public Relations’ Policy Office at (915) 587-1181. |
1) Prepare REQUIRED Proposal
Review Elements of a Research Proposal if you need assistance.
2) Complete REQUIRED Forms (For faxed or emailed submissions, you must still send each ORIGINAL signature page by mail.)

- BASIC APPLICATION FORM
- CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT FORM
3) Obtain IRB Approval and Parent Consent (If applicable)
You must obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for studies involving
human subjects regardless of age AND parent/guardian permission (in the
appropriate languages) for studies involving students (Sample Parent/Guardian
Consent Form)
4) Complete Application Checklist

Evidence of Submission (You must provide evidence
of submission of your
proposal to your institution's IRB. This will provide you with a temporary IRB#.)
Attachments (e.g. IRB#, sample letters, questionnaires, surveys, etc.)
Submission Deadline:First Monday of the month
Review ProcessThird Tuesday of the month
Reward NotificationThe Research Review Panel will notify the applicant by US mail
