Current Middle School Teaching and Paraprofessional Vacancies

A person may not be employed as a teacher, teacher intern or teacher trainee, librarian, educational aide, administrator, or counselor by the District unless the person holds an appropriate certificate or permit. A person who desires to teach in a public school shall present the person's certificate for filing with the District before the person's contract with the Board is binding. Education Code 21.003(a), 21.053(a)

It is the district’s practice to fill teaching positions by selecting "highly qualified" applicants. DAB (Legal)
Any public elementary or secondary school teacher must have all of the following:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree; and
  • Full Texas state certification (including alternative certification); and
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area (s) assigned.
  • Core academic areas: English, Reading or Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages, Civics and Government, Economics, Arts (theatre arts, dance, music and art), History and Geography.
