New EPISD Text Messaging System

Dear EPISD Parent,

EPISD uses the School Messenger notification service to send important information to families through phone calls, and now via SMS text messages. Cell phone numbers on file with the district were recently sent an SMS text message from "68453" that requested you opt-in to receive important information from the district; your opting in is required to comply with wireless carrier requirements and to protect against unsolicited text messages.

Important information you should know about this service:

• 68453 is the short code for EPISD's account with School Messenger; all SMS messages coming from EPISD will display this number.
• Recipients can opt-in to the service at any time; it is not required that you reply to the original opt-in invitation SMS message that was sent. Simply send any of these key words -- "SUBSCRIBE", "OPTIN" OR "OPT IN" -- to 68453.
• EPISD will restrict usage to important information -- we will not bother you with trivial messages.
• If at any time you wish to opt-out of all text messages from School Messenger go to http://www.schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg/ or send "STOP" to 68453.
• EPISD does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you.

Our goal is to keep you informed about your student(s) and your district. Please opt-in for text messaging and sign up for the Parent Portal(!) at http://www.episd.org/_parents/ if you haven't already.
