Now in its third year, the drive is expected to bring in more than 2,000 blankets to help keep the El Paso and Juarez communities warm through the winter months.

The Foundation also announced the partnership of The El Paso Times and the El Paso Independent School District, who will also aid in the effort to collect blankets. “We are very excited to have these two organizations join in our cause this year,” said Cindi Aboud, who organized the Braden Aboud Foundation with her husband, Gary, after losing their son Braden in a ski accident two years ago. “The need for blankets in El Paso and Juarez is tremendous during the winter months,” Aboud said. “This project is a success because of students and schools who feel it is important to give back to their community.”

Anyone in the community who would like to donate a blanket can drop it off at any EPISD high school, or at the following locations:
• The El Paso Times, 300 N. Campbell Street
• St. Clement’s Parish School, 810 N. Campbell Street,
• St. Mark’s School, 5005 Love Road
