Eligibility - Pre-Kinder/Pre-First

ONLY FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN A BILINGUAL/ESL PROGRAM WHO ARE LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT AS DEFINED BY THE TEXAS EDUCATION CODE (TEC), CHAPTER 89.

  • Pre-Kindergarten -- any Limited English Proficient (LEP) child whose parents/legal guardians reside within the EPISD boundaries, will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2011, and will be in a bilingual/ESL program in Kindergarten.
  • Pre-First -- any Limited English Proficient (LEP) child whose parents/legal guardians reside within the EPISD boundaries, will be six (6) years old on or before September 1, 2011, and will be in a bilingual/ESL program in Grade 1.

Eligibility - Current students grades 2-5

  • Students Grades 2-5 who meet the criteria for additional support/intervention are the only students eligible.
  • See your campus administration for details.
  • ESY (Extended School Year) is for Special Needs Students only.

SUMMER SCHOOL IS IN SESSION MONDAY - FRIDAY.
ESY WILL BE HELD ONLY AT DESIGNATED SITES.
ALL SUMMER SCHOOL SITES WILL PROVIDE FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH.

Locations:

Traditional Classroom Summer School Sites: Classes offered from June 14 - July 13 Mainly from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Limited Afternoon sessions).

  1. Chapin serves; Andress, Chapin, Irvin, HILT, and ESY Long
  2. Austin serves; Austin, Bowie, Burges, Jefferson/Silva, HILT, and ESY Long
  3. Franklin 9th Grade Center serves; Coronado, El Paso, Franklin, HILT, and ESY Long
  • Computer Aided Instruction/Odyssey will be offered at all High School Campuses morning and afternoon.
  • 9th Grade EOC Intervention will be offered at all High School Campuses morning and afternoon, June 14 - July 13.
  • Course offerings are limited and Core Courses are primarily for Credit Recovery.
  • Courses for Credit Advancement will cost $125 per course (Free & Reduced Lunch students will qualify for a discount.) (The EOC Intervention Program will be free.)
  • ESY (Extended School Year) is for Special Needs Students only.
