H1N1 Flu Prevention in EPISD

Help EPISD fight the FLU

EPISD Parents and Staff:

As you know, flu season is here. Campuses are being cleaned and disinfected regularly. In addition, children are being reminded about proper hand-washing techniques and sneezing or coughing into their elbow to prevent the spread of flu.

You can help, too!

If your child develops flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, and/or a fever, it is important that they do not attend school. It is best that the child stays at home for at least 24 hours after being free of the fever, without using fever-reducing medicine.

If your child is out due to the flu, please contact your school to ensure the absences are recorded properly.

Stay Informed:

The District will continue to work closely with El Paso health officials and follow recommendations from state and federal public health organizations. We will keep you informed of any new developments.

As a reminder, please notify the school when your child will be absent. Please be sure to share the information about why your child is staying home.

Working together we can help prevent the flu from spreading. Please contact your school nurse or principal if you have any questions or concerns.
