A message from our Principal,
I am honored to be part of the Zavala family and community, and together, we’ll work for our students' social-emotional and academic well-being. I was born in Juarez into a family of educators. My parents were teachers, and from an early age, I knew I also wanted to be in education. I began my career as a second-grade bilingual teacher and have experience in special education and dyslexia education. I understand the importance of bilingualism in our city and community. I believe that schools are an active and essential part of our communities, and I’ll work every day to make Zavala a place where our students learn how to read and write, where they learn about their culture, and where they learn to be good citizens. Me siento honrado de ser parte de la familia y comunidad de Zavala, y juntos trabajaremos por el bienestar socioemocional y académico de nuestros estudiantes. Nací en Ciudad Juárez en una familia de educadores. Mis padres eran maestros y desde temprana edad supe que yo también quería dedicarme a la educación. Empecé como maestro bilingüe de segundo grado y tengo experiencia en educación especial y educación en dislexia. Entiendo la importancia del bilingüismo en nuestra ciudad y comunidad, y creo que las escuelas son una parte activa y esencial de nuestras comunidades, y trabajaré todos los días para hacer de Zavala un lugar donde nuestros estudiantes aprendan a leer y escribir, pero también, un lugar donde aprenden sobre su cultura, y un lugar donde aprenden a ser buenos ciudadanos. ¡Vamos Potros!
