• A message from our Principal

    Dear Powell Parents and Students,

    It is with great privilege to be the principal of Powell Elementary School. I have 18 years in elementary education either serving as a classroom teacher, instructional specialist and assistant principal. During this time, I have been provided with the opportunity to continue to grow and learn within the field of education. As an instructional leader of a campus, I can build and support educators for a productive classroom of learners. The single most important reason I became an educator, I have a deep love for learning, and I want to pass it along to others. Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing a student and teacher discover their passion and experience success in learning and learn to preserver through obstacles for academic achievement.

    Our school was established in 2009-2010. It is exciting to be able to support our military children by utilizing a partnership from Fort Bliss and the unique resources of the El Paso community. Our goal at Powell Elementary is to inspire children to achieve their personal best and to empower them to reach towards meeting their highest potential. Our staff is committed to always keeping children first in all that we do. At Powell, communication between campus stakeholders, involvement in campus activities and high-quality educational practices will make a great difference in your child's success. 

    Whether your family is here for 9 months or three years (or more!), we want your family's experience at Powell to be positive while meeting your child's academic and social-emotional needs. In order to provide every child with the opportunity for success, we must work together as a team. We invite you to join our Powell family and to actively participate by volunteering and attending school events. Through open communication and a clear vision, we can come together to help our children become the leaders of the future.
