My name is Lisa Lee, the proud counselor of Tom Lea Elementary.
I am an El Paso native and a mom to three, amazing boys. I come from a family of educators, so naturally, I have always had a heart for education. I received my undergrad from the University of Texas at El Paso in elementary education. I taught for five years, in different grade levels and in different states. The last two years of my teaching career, I pursued my degree in school counseling. I graduated with my master's from Sul Ross State University, December 2013.
During my undergrad, I mentored under an EPISD counselor and fell in love with her passion and love for the children she served. She poured into her students, parents, and the community. It stirred something inside of me. It shifted my paradigm from a small scale (classroom) to a much larger scale (school). Although I loved teaching and being in the classroom, I knew that I wanted to push beyond that. My heart longed to not only impact twenty kids in the classroom setting, but to have the ability to touch and make a difference throughout an entire school.
I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you, your child, Tom Lea’s amazing staff and our community. Some of the services I will provide throughout the school year include small-group, individual counseling, classroom character education lessons, referrals to local community resources and much more.
Please know I am available to you and want to help and support where I can. Looking forward to meeting you all and working with our Brave Bull families!
