I was raised in the Rocky Ford, Colorado....the melon capital of the world! I've been in El Paso now for about 30 years. I've been in the field of education for over 20 years as a math teacher, business teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal. I'm blessed to be at the Franklin Magnet Center since 2016. I love working with students, teachers, and staff. I have been with the New Tech Network for six years now and strongly believe that the best way to help students prepare for college and careers is through project-based learning. It is a great way to build on students learning styles and dive deeply into content, but also build collaboration, agency, verbal communication and other skils important in our world today.

About me: It is my pleasure to introduce myself as your Assistant Principal over the STEAM/PTECH programs at Franklin Magnet Center. I am extremely honored to be working at a campus where all stakeholders are committed to student success. I am starting my 26th year in education. I was raised in Brownsville, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BS in Health Science with a minor in Secondary Education with a concentration in Biology. I started my teaching career in Socorro ISD and have taught in Austin ISD, NEISD in San Antonio, and Hays CISD in Kyle, Texas. I came to the El Paso Independent School District and Franklin High School in 2007, in which I have had the pleasure of holding the positions of Science teacher, Science Coach, and Campus Teaching Coach. I graduated with my Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2017 from the University of North Texas in Denton. In 2017, I was fortunate enough to become an Assistant Principal at Franklin. It is my commitment to each of you to provide an environment where every child feels safe, connected, and prepared for the future. My door is always open, and I look forward to working with our students, parents, teachers, and staff. Please feel free to contact me via email at camendoz@episd.org or at 915-236-2402.
