Meal Benefits & Applications
What does CEP mean for my student(s) who attend El Paso ISD schools?
Fifty–nine schools will be on CEP program. In a CEP school, all students receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of family income. Families will not need to fill out an application for school meals if all of their students are attending the CEP campuses. Meals will be available from the first day of school for breakfast and lunch at no cost to students.
What if my child changes schools within the district?
If a student is enrolled in a CEP school and transfers to a non-CEP school during the school year, the new school will honor the existing status of the student within 30 days, or until a new application for the current year is processed. The parents will need to fill out an application for Free or Reduced priced meals. They may be responsible for meal charges. Non–CEP campuses will have applications available in the office, cafeteria, or can be completed online.
Who needs to complete a meal application?
Campuses that require application, will have them available in the office, cafeteria, or can be completed online. Before you begin the online application process, please make sure you have your student's ID information from the school, your social security numbers, and/or SNAP number. Please only complete one application per household either using the paper version or the online version. The online application can be accessed from the campus website; the link is located on the right hand side of the webpage.
Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications
Meal applications for 2017-2018 will be posted here in August 1, 2017. Paper applications and online applications for school meals will be available in the late summer. Many schools in EPISD are under a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and do not need to complete a meal application. Most students that completed an application and were on reduced or free priced meals during 2017-2018 they will need to complete a new application by October 3, 2017. In addition, if your student attended a CEP campus last year and will be enrolled in a non-CEP campus, you will need to complete a meal application for benefits.
Important: A new application must be completed each school year at schools not participating in CEP. Meal benefits begin on the day the application is processed by Food and Nutrition Services and continue throughout the school year in which the application is approved and up to the first thirty days of the next school year. If an application is processed within those 30 days, the new status will be effective on the day it was processed. The approval process can take approximately 5–10 business days. Parents are asked to provide your child with lunch money or a lunch from home until you have received verification of your meal benefits.
EPISD Food & Nutrition Services is now providing parents with yearly calendar menus.
For all schools, we have a 4-week cycle menu where the menu repeats every 4 weeks for the entire school year. The new yearly menu displays our 4-week cycle menu next to a calendar that indicates the cycle menu week. To download a copy of the yearly menu for your child's school, please click on the appropriate menu below. If you do not have access to a printer, you can request a copy from your cafeteria manager.
Please check out our new Food & Nutrition Services monthly newsletter that highlights school cafeteria events, promotions, and temporary menu changes.
