My name is Veronica Acosta and I am excited to be the new school counselor at Putnam Elementary.
I majored in psychology at Sul Ross State University and continued my education at Texas A & M International University where I earned a teaching certification. I have taught 3rd grade, music (K-5), and 5th grade in Laredo and El Paso, Texas. Recently, I earned Master of Science in School Counseling at Texas A & M International University. I'm thrilled to begin my second year as a school counselor at Putnam Elementary!
I look forward to helping our students reach their academic potential by helping them develop social emotional skills, self-awareness
and goals for their future. I believe that helping our students thrive as well-rounded and resilient members of society is essential
to their academic success.
Through the four components of a comprehensive school guidance and counseling program, I focus on guidance counseling, responsive
services, individual planning, and system support. I provide short term small term group and individual counseling based on the needs
of students. I also provide guidance lessons for each class throughout the school year.
I look forward to collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents, and our community to empower our students toward their personal best in all areas of achievement!
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have concerns, questions, or need assistance.
Together, we can help our students succeed!
