Biography

 A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.

Douglas MacArthur

 I am proud graduate of Burges High School and member of the MacArthur community.  I grew up in this community as did my siblings and we all decided to make this area our home.  I left El Paso for ten years to attend college in San Marcos.  I worked in Pflugerville ISD as an English and Spanish teacher before returning to El Paso.  We all return eventually!  I continued my career in education at Chapin High School in a multitude of capacities; as a teacher, counselor, and college and career counselor. I also have experience working at the EPISD central office in the Advanced Academics Department where I worked to make rigorous courses accessible to all of our students. 

I am completely invested in working with the administration at MacArthur where our focus will be the care and safety of our students with a determined emphasis on the quality of their education. The future and advancement of our students is at the core of what we look to accomplish daily with each student setting the foundation for a successful experience in high school, college and career. We are looking to not only develop incredible students but to also build and encourage them to be outstanding individuals making changes in our communities as leaders of the future.  I will do my best to exemplify leadership with integrity, compassion, commitment, creativity and positivity. Rest assured that I will work diligently with our teachers, our students and with our parents to make MacArthur an outstanding institution that our community can be proud of. Know that your child is our number one priority and together we will make them great.
