I have been teaching here at MacArthur since 2009 and have been in the special education department since 2014. Previously, I served in the United States Army for 23 years. My alma mater is the University of Phoenix where I received a B.S. in Information Technology in 2006. My certification is as a generalist teacher (qualified to teach all core subjects for grades 4-8). I am also state certified for
special education and E.S.L. and I have received district training for the special needs of gifted and talented students. It has been my privilege to have coached both girls and boys soccer here at MacArthur.
Usual Daily Schedule
Students should arrive on campus not later than 7:40. AIM students must be in the classroom by 7:45 and will be counted as tardy after 7:50. Late arriving students must report to the main office.
1st period (7:50-8:35 a.m.) P.E.
2nd period (8:37-9:22 a.m.) Science
3rd period (9:24-10:09 a.m.) Art-- AIM students go to room 507 with Ms. Chavez
(I am available for conference during 3rd period.)
4th & 5th periods (10:11 -11:43 a.m.) English Language Arts and Reading
Student Lunch (11:43-12:20 p.m.)
Enrichment & 6th period (12:22-1:25 p.m.) Enrichment Activity, Math part 1
7th period (1:27-2:13 p.m.) Social Studies
8th period (2:15-2:50 p.m.) Math part 2
AIM students will leave the classroom for the day about 2:50 and are escorted to their buses by 2:55.
