• Principal's Corner

Dear Don Haskins PK – 8 Community,

Welcome to our amazing school!  I am honored to serve as the first principal of Don Haskins PK - 8.  Together we will create new traditions and a strong legacy of learning and leadership.

I have spent my entire career working to this moment.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th grades.  As an administrator, I worked at Alamo Elementary, Lindbergh Elementary, Bond Elementary, and Lincoln Middle School.  My heart is with EPISD and everyone in this community.

We are continuing our work as a member of the No Excuses University network of schools.  Our International Baccalaureate program continues to get stronger and allows us to offer special classes for our upper-grade students.  Dual Language, Pre-AP and Agriculture courses are just some of the special opportunities here at Haskins.

Coach Haskins said, “It’s not about talent, it’s about heart.  It’s about who can go out there and play the hardest.”  Give your best every day.  Ask questions.  Don’t be afraid to learn from your mistakes.  You can do it!  I believe in you.

    Sincerely,

    Haidi Appel
