Message from the Principal

  • As Principal of Irvin High School, Home of the Rockets, it is my pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our school!

The future is bright for Irvin High School with exciting new direction and improvements. Our focus is on our students where we provide a nurturing learning environment with rigorous and engaging instruction.  Daily, we instill a sense of family and reinforce our core values of respect, responsibility, trust and safety.

Irvin was very fortunate and we are proud to have been one of two EPISD high schools initially selected to have the New Tech program.

New Tech uses project-based instruction paired with technology and collaborative activities to engage students in a new way of learning.

Rocket New Tech is in its second year of implementation and looks forward to many years to come.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, we plan to launch three additional academic academies:  Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Academy, Biotechnology and Life Science Academy, and Art, Audio-Visual Technology and Communications Academy.  Furthermore, following the recent passage of the school Bond, Irvin High School stands to eventually gain significant improvements to the campus and facilities.

“Rockets Rise and Soar” is our motto this year and is symbolic for what we are doing. Our goal is to ensure each student graduates not only college- ready but also with skills that will allow them to make immediate positive contributions to society.
