• Internship Opportunities

The El Paso Independent School District welcomes university students to take part in our teacher intern and classroom observation program.

All employees, volunteers, interns, and classroom observers must consent to a criminal background check prior to working with students.  An online application must be submitted.

STUDENT TEACHERS: Campus placements for student teaching as an intern are made in collaboration with the cooperating university and EPISD. Select "UNIVERSITY STUDENT" within the application.

All student teachers must attend an orientation prior to the start of the internship.

CLASSROOM OBSERVATIONS: Classroom observation requests must include the syllabus or a letter from the professor stating the requirement of observation hours. This document must be presented to the campus at the time of the observation. It is the responsibility of the student to find a campus for these observations. Select "UNIVERSITY STUDENT" within the application

    Proceed to Application

Under the Jobs portion of the application, select ‘INTERN” as the Location Category.  Click on INTERNS and VIPS – Student.  DO NOT select a specific campus.  The selection of a specific campus is only used for campus volunteers.   After your application has been submitted and criminal history completed, the campus will determine if you are cleared for participation.   Due to the high volume of requests, notifications are not sent out to confirm the clearance.  Contact the campus directly for confirmation prior to the observation date.
