El Paso ISD’s 2023 Summer Learning Program is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students and families. Students who attend will receive high-quality instruction that’s both interactive and engaging. Optional afternoon enrichment activities are available to elementary and middle school students, with rotations focusing on STEM, fine arts, and P.E.
Breakfast and lunch will be served daily to all attendees. Transportation is available to those who qualify.
Our summer programming is by invitation only and offered at no cost to the parent. Campuses will be sending out invitations soon!

Summer school programming includes courses developed for academic intervention, credit recovery, educational enrichment, and high school level course acceleration. Some programs have specific qualification criteria and require an invitation to participate. Fresh air and fun in the sun with friends meets endless opportunities for hands-on learning, exploration, and personal growth. BE A KID and get involved, get crafty and get active!

ELEMENTARY

Pre-K/Pre - 1st EL Program
This program serves our emergent bilingual students who have completed PK4 or kindergarten. The focus of the program will be to build foundational skills and language development. Students will attend all day, with breakfast and lunch served, and available transportation at no cost to the parent. Time & Dates: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. June 12 - July 7 (No school June 19, July 3, and July 4)
Reading & Math Intervention
All kindergarten through 5th-grade students attending will receive daily instruction in math and reading in 90-minute blocks in the morning. The activities will be interactive and reinforce foundational skills in both English and Spanish. Students who attend will have the choice to stay each afternoon to take part in enrichment activities in STEM, technology, fine arts, and P.E. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. Transportation is available to those who qualify.
Campuses will be notifying parents of those students invited to attend.
MIDDLE

Reading & Math Intervention
All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders attending will receive daily instruction in math and reading in 90-minute blocks in the morning. The activities will be both interactive and reinforce foundational skills in both English and Spanish. Students who attend will have the choice to stay each afternoon to take part in enrichment activities in STEM, technology, fine arts, and P.E. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. HIGH SCHOOL

Credit Recovery
Credit Recovery allows students the opportunity to earn credit in courses that they were unsuccessful in during the previous semester. Credit Recovery Edgenuity courses pre-test students to ensure they aren’t repeating material that they have already mastered. Student learning will be encouraged by the classroom teacher who will be available to answer questions and monitor progress.
Students who need EOC Intervention and Credit Recovery may split their time between both programs for the first week. Once testing is complete in Week 2, students may then dedicate a full day to Credit Recovery instruction.
Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. Transportation is available to those who qualify.
EOC Intervention
EOC Intervention provides students with targeted instructional support to prepare them to be successful on the English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History exams. Students will receive either 15 or 30 hours of instruction depending on whether they are assigned to a half day or a full day.
The EOC testing schedule is as follows:
June 20, English I
June 2, Algebra I and U.S. History
June 22, English II
June 23, BiologyStudents who are assigned EOC Intervention only will be finished with Summer School after they complete their required EOC exam(s) in Week 2.
Dual Credit
In partnership with El Paso Community College, we will offer the following Dual Credit courses: ARTS 1300, MUSI 1306, ECON 2301, and EDUC 1300. Dual Credit courses will be taught face-to-face by credentialed instructors at no cost. Please note the schedule and locations for Dual Credit, as it differs from other Summer School programs:
Dates: June 21 - July 25 (no classes from July 3-7)
Times: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Locations: Bowie High School, El Paso High School, and Irvin High SchoolTransportation to the host sites will be provided. Please see your school counselor for more information about enrollment in Dual Credit Courses.

Healthful food is vital for high-energy, growing kids. El Paso ISD Food and Nutrition Services is proud to offer delicious meals that provide the essential nutrition that students need in order to be ready to learn.
Summer school campus cafeterias will offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to children who are ages 1 to 18 and live in the community. To find additional information, click here.

TRANSPORTATION

Come ride with us! The El Paso ISD Transportation Department provides students with safe, professional and efficient transportation. Pick-up locations will be at the student’s home school.
