Venezia Martinez, Silva Magnet High School senior

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – February 21, 2025) — Venezia Martinez, a senior at Silva Magnet High School, continues to shine both inside and outside the classroom. After being crowned Teen Universe Chihuahua 2024 in December, Venezia is now preparing to represent the state of Chihuahua at the highly anticipated Miss Teen Universe Mexico competition, which will take place from February 25 to March 1, 2025.

Competing against representatives from 30 states across Mexico, she brings with her a powerful message focused on the importance of education—a platform she proudly champions. 

Beyond her success on the pageant stage, Venezia is an exemplary student-athlete at Jefferson/Silva High School. She plays for the varsity soccer team and serves as an athletic trainer, helping her peers stay healthy and ready for competition. Her commitment to sports extends beyond the soccer field, as she previously showcased her skills on both the Freshman and Junior Varsity basketball teams. 

Venezia’s achievements don’t stop there. She recently earned certification as an electrocardiogram (EKG) technician through a specialized program at Silva Magnet High School, further demonstrating her dedication to academic excellence and healthcare. After graduating, she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and later attend medical school to become a pediatrician—a dream fueled by her passion for helping children.

Born and raised in El Paso, Venezia’s participation in the Teen Universe pageant reflects both her pride in her community and her family’s roots in Mexico, made possible through her dual nationality. 

“We are incredibly proud of Venezia’s accomplishments,” said Jefferson Silva High School Principal Edgar Rincon. “She embodies the spirit of determination, academic excellence, and community pride. We know she will continue to make El Paso ISD proud on the national stage.” 

As Venezia prepares for the national competition, her journey serves as an inspiration for students across El Paso ISD, proving that with hard work and dedication, dreams truly have no boundaries.
