Cereal CompetitionThe campaign, which runs through May 16, aims to collect cereal and monetary donations to support local families experiencing food insecurity. As part of the campaign, community leaders—including medical professionals, media personalities, and student leaders—participated in a spirited cereal-eating contest on Wednesday, May 14. The event drew attention to the critical issue of childhood hunger in El Paso.

Westbrook is a standout student-athlete who recently brought home a state championship in the 3200-meter run at the UIL Track and Field State Meet in Austin. “When I was asked to join, I had to do it. I'm always up for some friendly competition,” Westbrook said. “Overall, I think this event is a great way to promote food insecurity in our community,”

The Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive emphasizes the importance of access to nutritious meals, especially for children. Cereal donations collected throughout the drive will directly benefit local families, helping ensure that students have the fuel they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
