Military Support
Military Liaison
Greetings Hurricanes!
My name is Kisha Hawk, and I am your Proud Military Family Liaison here at Coach Wally Hartley. My experience with the military runs back quite a few years. I have raised four children through the DOD school system and EPISD.I have been in El Paso since 2012 working with youth and the community members of El Paso.
My main role here at Coach Wally Hartley is to be an advocate for our military-connected students and parents. I can assist you with locating points of contact in the local community as well as the military community. My primary duties include:
Serving as the point of contact and working collaboratively between military-connected students and their families and the campus.
Maintaining familiarity with enrollment processes, records transfer, existing community resources, and student supports.
Ensuring military-connected students are identified and properly coded through the Texas Student Data System Public Education Information Management System (TSDS PEIMS).
Determining campus-based supports and services available to military-connected students based on their unique needs, including their high mobility.
Assisting in coordinating campus-based programs relevant to military-connected students
Attending professional development or training annually to learn and understand topics related to the transition of military-connected students and their families.
While these are my primary duties, essentially, I am here to serve in any capacity that benefits the students. My main role here at Hartley is to be an advocate for military-connected students and parents in locating points of contact in the local community and the military community and making referrals as appropriate.
I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you and your children. I encourage every one of you to become involved with school. That is an important way to ensure that your child is receiving the best possible education that we can offer them.
If there is anything that I can help you with, or you need someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to call me at school at (915) 236-0800 or e-mail me at tchawk@episd.org.
