I’m Melissa Morales, Assistant Principal at Milam Elementary—Team Mustang! I’ve had the privilege of working in education for over 27 years, all within the El Paso Independent School District. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and my Master's from Grand Canyon University, and throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to grow both personally and professionally.

For 14 years, I taught elementary students, which was incredibly rewarding. It allowed me to form strong connections with students and their families, and I truly believe that building those relationships is key to a successful learning environment.

For the last 8 years, I’ve been an Assistant Principal, and I love being in a position where I can make a difference on a larger scale. Whether it’s supporting teachers, addressing the needs of our students, or working with families, I’m always focused on fostering a positive school culture where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Education is my passion, and I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated team here at Milam. Team Mustang is all about collaboration, growth, and success
