Strategic Planning & Program Evaluation

State Compensatory Education (SCE) Program

The State Compensatory Education (SCE) program is intended to supplement the basic education program by providing compensatory, intensive, and accelerated instruction to students considered at risk of dropping out of school. The goal of offering these services is to increase these students' academic achievement and reduce their dropout rates.

SCE Evaluation Report

The program also requires (by law) an annual evaluation that demonstrates the effectiveness of the SCE program in reducing disparity in the performance on assessment instruments and high school completion rates between at risk students and all other district students.  The SPAA department works in coordination with other departments to complete the program evaluation. Additionally, an annual public hearing to discuss the evaluation results and effectiveness of the SCE program occurs during the May Board Meeting of the current year.

The annual evaluation is submitted to TEA per program compliance.  To view the current EPISD SCE evaluation report click here.
