  • Coronado, Kohlberg unite to illustrate storytelling projects

    Students from Coronado and Kohlberg last week came together last week to bring to life a writing project as part of the Young Authors Unite Program. The younger students told their life stories and the older ones created them into books with illustrated covers. This is part of a project designed to encourage writing among students.

  • EPISD comes together to show love of reading

    The sixth annual Read Across the District event gave students and the entire EPISD community a chance to come together to showcase the love of reading and books. The official kick-off celebration at Tom Lea Elementary featured readers, soldiers and Harry Potter cosplay.

    NBA champ and former L.A. Lakers player Adrian Branch spent the afternoon speaking with students from Armendariz Middle School and the Young Women's Academy. The current ESPN analyst spoke to students about the importance of following their dreams.

    The Council on Regional Economic Expansion and Educational Development (CREEED) on Monday presented $100,000 to EPISD to support 50 teachers interested in teaching dual-credit courses.
