2020 McDonald’s HACER Education Tour for college funding resources goes virtual
McDonald’s 2020 HACER® Education Tour offering information on education resources will take place virtually for El Paso students, parents and educators on Oct. 28 and Nov. 4. The new digital format expands the program’s reach by shifting the 10-workshop tour from in-person events at select high schools across the country to providing access to entire school districts virtually.

EPISD Cares raises funds for 882K meals during pandemic
EPISD Cares, the District-led fund to raise money for the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger food bank, raised $126,000 since April. That translates to more than 882,000 meals for families who needed access to healthy food during the pandemic.

EPISD students appointed to Municipal Teen Court
Eighteen EPISD high-school students will join the Municipal Teen Court and will help the city settle minor cases involving teens. The students will serve as lawyers, jurors, court clerk and bailiff for minor violations in hopes of having teens hear their cases by their peers.

Free meal distribution for all children extended through rest of the school year
The U.S. Department of Agriculture extended EPISD's allowance to provide free meals to all children ages 1-18 regardless of their income or enrollment in the District through the end of the school year. EPISD will distribute meals during the second week of intersession on Oct. 19-23.

EPISD updates athletics guidelines due to COVID-19 spike
Effective immediately, only essential personnel will be allowed at all games and competitions. No fans, spectators or parents will be allowed at football, volleyball, tennis or cross country events. The updated spectator rules are in place through Oct. 17.
