The University of Texas System Chancellor’s Centurions awarded 10 EPISD teachers with a $500 gift card to Office Depot for classroom supplies this week. The teachers are among 40 other educators receiving the Educator’s Torch Award in El Paso.

State gives EPISD highest financial rating
The District on Tuesday announced that it received a rating of Superior Achievement on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2020 fiscal year. This is the 18th year the District has earned the highest rating given by the state to school districts.

New mural at Guillen track honors Bowie grad who ran in the Olympics
Javier Montez, one of El Paso's first Olympians who participated in the 1952 Helsinki Games, was honored on Tuesday with a mural at Guillen Middle School. The Bowie graduate and state track champion will welcome athletes to his beloved Segundo Barrio.
