A Message from Diana Sayavedra

Dear El Paso ISD,

As we approach the end of June, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to our staff and our community for your ongoing support and dedication to El Paso's District. Your commitment to education and the well-being of our students is truly commendable, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such a remarkable community.

As thoughts turn to the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, I ask that you make room in your future plans for a Fiesta! Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels next week for a special announcement about exciting plans we have in store, which will allow us to come together as a community. Stay tuned!

A reminder that school will resume Aug. 7 and registration is still ongoing. If you haven’t already done so, please visit episd.org/register to register your child.

Additionally, a reminder that free meals will continue to be served through July 7 to children ages 1 to 18 at our elementary campuses as part of the Seamless Summer Option meal program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. To view schedules, menus and a list of participating campuses, visit our website at episd.org.

This week, during a special board meeting, trustees were updated with information related to a comprehensive assessment of our district’s facilities. In addition, the board approved educational specifications that set the standard for school facilities in El Paso ISD. This sets the stage for the continued development of a long-range district facilities master plan. We will continue to work toward a bright future and continued success for El Paso’s District.

As the Independence Day holiday approaches, let's take a moment to reflect on the principles and values that underpin this significant milestone in our nation's history. As you gather with friends and family, enjoy the picnics and parades, and marvel at the colorful bursts of fireworks, I encourage you to appreciate the profound meaning behind this special day. Let us honor the vision of our founding fathers by renewing our commitment to the principles of freedom, justice, and equality for all.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to the El Paso Independent School District. Together, we can continue to provide the best educational opportunities for our students and create a community that thrives on unity, understanding and respect.

It starts with us.

Sincerely,

Diana Sayavedra
