Dr. Rosie Perez appointed as new director of Federal and State Programs

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – April 17, 2024) — El Paso ISD announces Dr. Rosie Perez as the new Director of Federal and State Programs.  

In this role, Dr. Perez will oversee the department charged with supporting campuses and departments by facilitating entitlement funds along with monitoring state and federal program budgets. 

“I’m excited to continue working with our stakeholders to ensure the very best for our El Paso ISD students,” Dr. Perez said.  

Dr. Perez earned her doctorate in education at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she studied curriculum and instruction. Previously, she served as the coordinator of Improvement Planning at El Paso ISD. Some of her accomplishments in that role include the creation of the new myEPISD Intranet. She also managed the operations of the Districtwide Educational Improvement Council and organized professional development sessions.   

Dr. Perez also has years of experience working as an educator. She worked as a math and science teacher from 1996 through 2005 and served as an instructional technologist from 2005 to 2011. Additionally, Dr. Perez served as the assistant principal and worked in other administration positions for various schools in Socorro ISD.
