Coronado High graduates largest class of the season
(CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL -- May 28, 2019) — EPISD’s largest graduating class this year — Coronado High School’s Class of 2019 — celebrated the accomplishments of students during a lively ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Don Haskins Center.
A total of 735 seniors received their diplomas, including 40 students who earned their International Baccalaureate Diploma from the city’s oldest IB program.
“This is only a portion of what the Class of 2019 has accomplished,” Principal Marc Escareno said. “I want to reassure everyone in attendance that these students have taken their education very seriously.”
Coronado’s Class of 2019 earned a total of $12 million in scholarships and funding for post-secondary education, including a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, a Terry Scholar and two QuestBridge Scholars.
The Class of 2019 valedictorian is Sonali Patel and the salutatorian is Amy Barnett.
