(JEFFERSON/SILVA HIGH SCHOOL -- Nov. 13, 2019) — The Silver Foxes of Jefferson/Silva recently unveiled the new look for Jeffrey and Sylvia, their beloved mascots.
The pair of furry foxes — Jeffrey in his traditional red fur and Sylvia in an elegant silver — made their official debut during the South Side Bowl game against rival Bowie High School last week at the Sun Bowl.
The mascot makeover was possible thanks to the support of the Jeferson/Silva community and is a testament to the involveent of its students, staff and alumni. The two outfits replace the decades-old costumes that served the historic South Side high school for years. Specifically, the new costumes were sponsored by the Mardi GRAS Committee with Pete Solis and Sal Lucero helping in every step of the process.
