667 seniors graduate Tuesday from Coronado High School

(CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL -- June 7, 2022) — Coronado High School’s 667 graduates walked the stage at the Don Haskins Center Tuesday afternoon on Day 4 of El Paso ISD’s 2022 Graduation Season.

The Class of 2022 is led by valedictorian Samuel Kligman, who, along with All-Coronado Boy Luke Miller, are El Paso County’s only National Merit Scholars.  The salutatorian and All-Coronado Girl is Christina Li. All three students will be attending Princeton University this fall. The class, which raked in more than $16.7 million in scholarships, also boasts five National Merit Semifinalists.

Princeton-bound Kligman spoke about the legacy of the Greatest Generation and the freedoms they fought for in World War II and how important it is to fight for freedom today.

“When I look around this room, I see our generation’s greatest hope in retaking our democracy and the word ‘freedom’ – you,” Kligman said. “I believe in the future of the United States of America because of you.”

Li offered thanks to those who made her class, wonder, doubt, apologize, and showed them love.

“And thank you to those who defeated us, pushing us to do better,” she said. “Thank you to those who made a difference. On behalf of the Great Coronado Class of 2022, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the people who changed our lives so that we may go on to change the world.”
