CCTA commencement kicks off last day of EPISD graduations
(COLLEGE, CAREER & TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY -- May 28, 2019) — In a small, but emotional ceremony at the Don Haskins Center on Tuesday morning, the 2019 graduates of EPISD’s CCTA celebrated their hard-fought accomplishment of earning a high-school diploma.
The school, a specialty campus that offers accelerated credits for students who may have struggled at their home campuses, graduated 95 students, including one GED award.
“You have faced many obstacles and worked so hard to get to this point,” interim principal Monica Ortega told the graduates. “This ceremony is a celebration of the perseverance you have shown.”
CCTA students earned $4,000 in scholarships, including two EPISD Education Foundation awards.
The valedictorian for the Class of 2019 is Jordan Martinez and the salutatorian is Andrew Zamilpa.
