Austin High’s graduation marks the return to UTEP’s Don Haskins Center.

(AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL – June 6, 2022) – El Paso ISD graduations returned to UTEP’s Don Haskins Monday with the Austin High Panthers’ Class of 2022 taking the stage for the third day of graduation season.

The 245-member graduating class, which amassed $1.5 million in scholarships, is led by valedictorian Luis Adrian Urbina Jr, All-Austin Boy, and salutatorian Abril Antillo Gutierrez.

“This class has accomplished remarkable things,” Antillo Gutierrez said. “Championship titles, trophies and getting the AP class credit but I believe that it is more than the statistics, trophies and certificates. I believe true accomplishments are the small things, moments in between.”

Urbina thanked his family, friends and those who guided him throughout his years at Austin.

“Now, as our high school chapter comes to an end, a new one will begin as we venture off into our own lives and become adults,” Urbina said. “I will forever cherish my time here at Austin and I will always be proud to call myself a Panther.”
