Students Explore Careers

NASA Scientist Jim Withrow

Students celebrated Career Day on Friday, January 17, 2020, by dressing in business attire, police uniforms, professional football uniforms and much more to represent what they want to be when they grow up. As part of Career Day, professionals visited 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms to share information about their own careers. Among the visitors were National Parks Ranger Diana Moy, NASA Rocket Scientist Jim Withrow, Author Mikaela Perez, Julian Crocket from the El Paso Locomotive Soccer Team, Librarians Sally Quiroz and Roxanne Russell, Pharmacist Ashleigh Tucker, news reporter Aaron Montes and Officers Slade Davis and Jeff Bell from the El Paso Police Department. Students were also given an explanation of the inner workings of a fire truck by Lieutenant Dubose and others from the El Paso Fire Department.
